ROYAL NAVY WIRELESS TELEGRAPHY STATION - GLENGORM
I believe that there was a WWII Royal Navy WT Station near the present BT, Crown Castle and Hydro Electric radio stations at Glengorm near Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. There used to be some small buildings around the back of the hill but these have now been demolished - they can seen at CANMAP along with some masts around the buildings. All that remains now is the old engine house which has been converted into a house. There is also a small cottage near the bottom of the track up to the radio station but I have never been able to get any confirmation of whether this is WWII or just a cottage.
Tobermory was a training base for the Royal Navy during WWII, HMS Western Isles. There is an excellent book about the subject - The Terror of Tobermory written by Richard Baker.
